Skills progress
During this course i have learnt a lot of many skills. These include the different types of camerawork such as the 180 degree rule and shot/reverse shot and applying them to the preliminary task.
I have learnt how to use a tripod correctly and the maintenance of it, for example how to set the camera up on it and placing it back correctly.
I have also got the hang of using movie maker when it come to creating the preliminary task, although i did come across some problems. For example we had a problem with wind when filming our videos so i needed to mute them on movie maker but at first i did not know how to do it. Also i struggled to cut down music to the relevant bits that we needed.

Preliminary Task
Feedback
In our preliminary task the events were clear and easily understood by everyone as well as our film including continuity editing.
We followed every instruction in the brief, such as a character sitting down opposite another character with an exchange of dialogue, expect a character opening a door and crossing the room.
Everyone spotted where we used the match-on-action, which was our character falling down the stairs, the shot/reverse shot which was our character looking out onto the field and our 180 degree rule, which was when our two characters were having a conversation.
We included other features such as sounds were we used cat noises and music over our videos as well as mise-en-scene and transitions on our videos like fading in and out onto another clip.
Our improvements which would be made in the future would be to add more dialogue as well as make it more longer.
Our teacher said we had nice canted pan at the beginning, he liked our extreme close up and sounds effects of the cat which linked to our title. He could see our shot/reverse shot in there. However, the upload did not show our film to the best quality so to improve we would have to upload it in a better quality. We also had a problem with the wind when filming and when adding music we should start our music gently and then increase the sound as it sounded quite abrupt. There was also some outside noise from the camera on the videos that did not have any music over it.
Feedback on storyboard
Feedback on storyboard
The feedback we received from the class about our storyboard is that we accidentally confused the arc shot with the 180 degree rule. Avoid filming in very dark conditions as you may not be able to see the camera shots. Try to think of things such as wind and using the camera close with dialogue so that you can hear what the character is saying.
