The Major film studios in Hollywood are:
1. Warner Bros. Pictures which is in corporation with Warner Bros. entertainment ( Time Warner). It was found on April, 4th 1923 by Albert, Harry, Sam and Jack Warner.
Warner Bros. Pictures most successful films included 'The dark Knight' which grossed $533,345,358, 'Harry Potter' and 'The exorcist'. The studio's most successful films in 2014 included 'Mad Max', 'Magic mike XXL' and 'Jupiter Ascending'.



2. Walt Disney Pictures which is in corporation with The Walt Disney Studios. It was founded in 1923 originally as 'Disney Bros. Cartoon Studios' by Walt Disney and his brother Roy. Walt Disney's most successful films of all time included 'Snow White' followed by 'Toy Story 3' and 'Minions. The studio's most successful films in 2014 was 'Big Hero 6' which grossed $1,049,281,996.


3. Universal Pictures which is in corporation with NBCUniversal (Comcast). It was founded on April, 30th 1912 by Carl Leammle and others. Universal Picture's most successful films included 'Jurassic World' which grossed $647,374,160 followed by 'Despicable Me 2' and 'Jaws'. The most successful film in 2014 was 'Dumb and Dumber 2' which grossed $86,208,010.



4. Columbia Pictures which is in corporation with Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group (Sony). It was founded on January, 10th 1924 by Harry&jack Cohn and Joe Brandt. Columbia Picture's most successful film included 'Spider-Man' which grossed $403,706,375 followed by 'Sky fall',  'men In Black' and 'Ghostbusters'. The Most successful films in 2014 were 'The Interview' which grossed $6,105,175 and other films like 'Fur' and 'The equalizer'.



5. 20th Century Fox which is in corporation with Fox filmed Entertainment (21st Century Fox). It was founded on May 31st, 1935 by Joseph M. Schenck and Darryl F. Zanuck. 20th Century Fox's most successful films included 'Avatar' which grossed  $749, 766,139 followed by 'Star Wars' and 'Independence Day'. The studio's most successful films in 2014 were 'Night at The Museum' which grossed $44,392,039 and others like 'Penguins of Madagascar' and 'The Maze Runner'.


6. Paramount Pictures which is in corporation with Paramount motion pictures group (Viacom). It was founded in 1912 by W. W. Hodkinson, Adolph zukor and Jesse L. Lasky. Paramount picture's most successful films all time included 'Titanic' which grossed $600,778,188 followed by 'Transformers' and 'Forrest Gump'. The studios most successful films in 2014 were 'Interstellar' which grossed $188,020,017 and other films like 'Selma' and 'The gambler'.


In 2014 20th Century fox was the highest ranking film studio followed by Disney, Warner Bros., Columbia, Universal then paramount.

Lionsgate Films in corporation with Lions Gate Entertainment and It was founded in 1997. Lionsgate's most successful films of all time was 'Twilight' and 'The Hunger Games'

The weinstein Company was then founded in 2005. Its most successful films were 'Scary Movie' as well as 'The King's speech'

Open Roads films in corporation with AMC Theatres was founded in 2011. Open Roads films most successful film was 'Jango Unchained'

CBS Films in corporation with CBS Corporation was founded in 2007. CBS's most successful films was the 'The Woman In Black' and 'The Back Up Plan'.

Dreamworks studio in corporation with Reliance Entertainment was founded in 1994. It's most successful films was 'War Horse' and 'Anchorman'.










DreamWorks animation was founded in 1994 and it's most successful films was 'Shrek' and 'Shark Tale'.






Gaumont Film Company was founded in 1895. It's most successful film were 'Intouchables' which has the highest gross intake of all time.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer pictures which is in corporation with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was founded in 1924. It's most successful film was 'The Wizard Of Oz' and 'A Space Odyssey'.
